Again, I rated this 5 stars when I originally read it; but reading it again as an adult it goes down to 3. I still recommend it for young readers and think they would find it excellent though.
adventurous
fast-paced
I like that these books are quick reads, but with a lot of stuff packed in them. I also enjoy the rich imagery of the world.
I just briefly read the synopses of each novel in the series on my library website, and it appears that Nix has quite the plot planned out. I'm certainly interested to see how it plays out.
Overall, while this-- so far-- isn't a life-changing series that really makes me think, I've really been enjoying it.

Oh, Arthur. You aren't going to get rest for a VERY long time. I love that this series has a different setting for each key to obtain. This one was much more dark and adventure oriented than the first.
i can feel this series beginning to pick up the pace and find myself incredibly excited for arthurs next adventure! Suzy has become all the more loveable and hilarious and claws was very funny. this book felt more easy to read - less dark and sinister but still had plenty of dark and sinister moments but also more lighthearted moments. I also adired japeth and hope to see more of him and Arthur's other friend, Leaf.
I had forgotten a lot of what happens in this book, but it really does still holds up, highly recommended!
I actually rated this as a 4.5. Another re-read for me ready to complete the series after purchasing the last few books a while after I originally started the series. Another light quick fantasy read which I enjoyed however not as much as the first hence the .5 less of a rating. I felt there could have been more to the story rather then them just travelling through 'the pit' for the majority of the book and along with this some more development of Tuesday's character would have been nice. Other then this an enjoyable read.
