As I've said before, this series is a re-read at this point. I read it way back in middle/high school—honestly can't remember—but I've soon forgotten a lot of the stories that I feel re-reading it is necessary, especially since I JUST bought the last instalment (Lord Sunday). Now that the story has progressed, there are some pieces of the puzzle, which before weren't even apparent yet, now start to come together. I think I enjoy that the adventure is not like most stories in the genre, where there is the guide from the other world always ready to help the hero every step of the way—or the hero almost always knowing what to do to solve the problem. I absolutely love how Suzy has become more of an accomplice, by this point, and how she seems to always be the one to save Arthur. I'm also loving the Captain very much! Nothing like a character with considerable freedom and unexpected appearance to live up a story. Speaking of unexpected appearances, well, it's quite an interesting turn of events to know that the enemy might not just be the concerning Morrow Day from the title. I can't wait for Leaf's role to become more prominent!

I like this series more than Harry Potter. But it's got nowhere near the popularity that Harry Potter got.

Maybe it's just too weird?

This is such a fun adventure! I love re reading childhood favorites and seeing the world in them is just as great as I remember!

Garth Nix seems to be one of those amazing authors that gets shoved into the shadows of current authors that aren't as nearly as talented. I'm just fascinated with the creativity of Nix's stories. It's unlike anything else and there's this constant wondering of how things are going to turn out in the end. I think it's a great young adult series that should be read by anyone looking for something different.

My favorite part of this book is the beginning, the description of Grim Tuesday and the Pit. I could have spent more time learning of the dangers of the pit and what the indentured denizens would do down there. However, I did not enjoy this book quite as well as the first, I felt like it went a little bit fast and didn't get to do as much fun description of the Far Reaches or anything else in the House like the first one. I also missed the first part of the will. I again listened to the book read out loud and to me it was wonderful. The reader was clear, did wonderful voices for all the different characters and basically turned what would already have been an interesting book into a book I would love to listen to again.

This is the next book in his Keys to the Kingdom series, following on from [b:Mister Monday|47613|Mister Monday (The Keys to the Kingdom, Book 1)|Garth Nix|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1170347890s/47613.jpg|1243291].

In Grim Tuesday, our protagonist Arthur Penhaligon has only just returned to normality after the events of the previous book when he's summoned again - although only hours have passed in Arthur's world, much more time has passed in the House and there's a need for Arthur to intervene. In order to save his family, and the future of the world itself, Arthur must try and get hold of the next Key, the one held by the eponymous Grim Tuesday.

Supporting characters from Mister Monday also make an appearance, as Nix tries hard to keep up the pace set in the first book. This time around, Arthur discovers that there's a much darker side to the place he has been drawn to, in addition to what he already knew. The series continues in [b:Drowned Wednesday|47619|Drowned Wednesday (Keys to the Kingdom, Book 3)|Garth Nix|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1170347892s/47619.jpg|805783], which I look forward to reading.
