Not the first gay hockey book I read and I'm starting to wonder why it's such a common trope lol
Anyways, hot book and not terrible plot-wise.

i am,, literally,,,, crying,,,

Nooo I read this while I was going through it and totally forgot about it! I know that I liked how torn Ryan was about getting with Jamie, normally I like the not so straight person question and coming to terms with what’s happening but I did like it flipped this time. I loved their friendship and banter. The camp setting, same room worked well, I love a forced proximity. I remember liking the coach/boss man as well.

friends to lovers
rival hockey team

That was a power play

I finally gave in to BookTok and read Him—and OMG, why did I wait so long??

Story of Wes and Jamie

I love everything Elle Kennedy and Sarina Bowen writes and this book is another great addition to their backlist.

Wes and Jamie are adorable!

Highly recommend reading this book.

I’m not a huge fan of second chance romance but this was done a lot better than others I’ve read. It still had a healthy amount of angst and yearning, but it wasn’t drawn out too badly to where I was just sad. I liked that the issues in this book were actual real-world, career-ending issues (as sad as that is, honestly) that were solved in a way that worked out for everyone. It made you feel hopeful that maybe there’s just as much good in the world as bad instead of a crazy imbalance of bad lol
