So good! The character depth, the plot, the spice! Chefs kiss!

It's been a while since the last time I read M/M romance and I tend to dislike the.. Details.

I still am you know, don't really enjoy the details, but I sure love the connection between characters. I loooove Elle Kennedy's writing and since this is the first time I read Sarina's work, I'd definitely read more from her.

From the story, there's nothing that I want to change; I enjoyed this book so much though reading it while I'm working with my male coworker sitting right next to me is a minor mistake. Not that I'm afraid he'd peek what I'm reading, but simply because I keep imagining him hooking up with my other male coworker and that's just.. Urgh. ><

But overall, what a book! Look forward to read more from this series!

This is my first m/m book and I loved it.

2.5 stars

i rated this 4 stars the last time i listened to it, and i guess it was a simpler time. i'm getting harder to please the older i get, obviously. this was meh, sometimes cringe, and a lot of failed potential. i don't know what the actual division of labor here was, but jamie is a much stronger character, and his chapters were infinitely more readable (listenable? maybe this is just that teddy hamilton magic). i don't have a particularly great track record with the writing of either of these authors, so i'm curious if one was more responsible for one character over the other.

story was fine. paced poorly, imo. didn't lean into the pining nearly enough. very little conflict and what was there kind of made me just dislike one of the mcs.

best parts were the coaching scenes. love a good mentor moment, and this had a few.

also, i will not take any points off for this but oh my god the idea that a collegiate hockey player would be allowed to have a tongue ring??? hello? (or an eyebrow ring tbh but this is a sport where it feels like a team barely has a full mouth of teeth between them, come on.)

It was a good book. No complaints at all, just wasn’t one I can give my coveted “4” and “5” rating I give my favorites

Well this was just LOVELY, and very hard to put down. I really liked reading from both Wes and Jamie's perspectives - they were uniquely enough written that I always knew whose chapter it was, but without being too jarring. These characters were great, and I enjoyed the way the authors developed their relationship - both into the future, and showing the past. Read on!
