I am obsessed! I love this world, the characters, the magic, and the mystery. The author did a lot more world building in the second book, and I really loved the descriptions of everything. I missed that in book one. I could picture every territory and place very vividly this time.

I love that each circle was themed for that particular sin, down to the small details. Gluttony's palace and circle was crazy! Getting to see more of Envy was a bonus, although it was definitely just a plot device to get Emilia where she needed to be for the story to continue. This was true for a lot of the side characters as well, like Celestia and Fauna. Their existence was nice as it was good for Emilia to have others to talk to and interact with, but they seemed to be spoon feeding Emilia info at just the right times. That was really my only complaint. Each time Emilia talked with another character, she got a little puzzle piece. She did do a good bit of her own sleuthing as well, but I would have liked for her to have a relationship that had nothing to do with the mysteries. Just a friend. Fauna was close.

I was glad to get some more information about the magic in this world this time as well. It is still a bit of a mystery, but it is slowly coming to light. I think it made sense that we discovered it slowly since Emilia is also discovering the magic. There are a lot of secrets and riddles, but they are also there to serve the plot. Everything kind of connects to the murders from book one, but we still don't have a definitive answer about those by the end of the book.

Now the characters. Emilia and Wrath both had a lot of character development this time around! There was still the enemies to (maybe) lovers thing going on some, mostly because Emilia is stubborn and has had it engrained in her brain that the Wicked are all evil and terrible. So naturally there was a lot of tension. I love how the magic of the realm played into this. It was so obvious to me even in book one that there was more going on with Wrath then met the eye, and I had a pretty good guess about his secrets, but seeing him in all of his demon prince glory was absolutely delicious. This book was also definitely not YA anymore. The spice was🔥! Emilia has some vivid imaginings, and then we get some super tense 🌶️ scenes that really drove the story. The relationship between Emilia and Wrath is definitely the focus of this one. There is some overall plot development, but the characters take precedence.

I am so glad I already have all three books so I can go ahead and start the next one, because that ending was pure torture!

This was amazing
5 stars all the way!!
I can't wait to read the third book
The story's world-building characters everything was perfect here and better than in the 1st book.
It's everything I wanted to get in this book and more!

The delivery of every scene is on point.
Something I noticed from the first book and really appreciate is the detailed way the story is told!

A Must read!
the characters are one of the best things in the series!

Highly recommended!
I am planning to try and reread every year in winter- the right mood for this

Wrath? More like Lust. This book was 400 pages of boring horniness.

The book feels fragmented, though less then the first book. Still, some scenes feel a bit jarring, and at times the book feels more a bundle of scenes that a complete story.

The main charracter is very annoying. She thibks she's strong and smart etc, but there is no foundation for this. She's week, easily manipulated, selfish and cruel. Childish, would be the word.

The mystery's interesting, and wrath's compellibg, but way to good for her.
A frustrating book

I was all convinced I was not going to continue this series since I didn’t like the first, I don’t like Kerri Manisaclo’s writing or James Patterson presets but I heard this becomes more new adult so I was intrigued. I had a lot of fun reading this, I was really into the relationship with wrath and the puzzle aspect. I think this was a lot more enjoyable than the first and I enjoyed it. It feels a lot like ACOTAR with the balls and the different courts, but it worked for me still.
