This book blew my mind. I didn't really know what to expect before I started reading and it still took me by surprise. The writing style is really similar to Chuck Palahniuk's, but still unique.

I'm re-reading Craig Clevenger in anticipation of his FIRST NEW BOOK IN ALMOST 20 YEARS!

This shit holds up. I mean, it's a story that doesn't work the same way in the digital age, but that's okay, it doesn't have to, and that'd be like saying "This Charles Dickens book would be totally different if this dude had a cell phone."

It's not always a great idea to revisit stuff you love, but in this case, it worked out. And I don't know how long the typical interval, the curve of forgetting is, for books, but I remembered very little, so I guess 20 years is a green light.

I once re-read a Vonnegut book, Sirens of Titan, without realizing it until the VERY end. Which I "predicted" because I somehow knew what was going to happen, and then was suspicious because I'm NOT that smart, and it turned out I'd read it before and forgot, but only MOSTLY, the big plot twist, I remembered.

But 20 years is my sweet spot. So I'm about due for another ride with Sirens of Titan...but the memory of accidentally reading it again kind of throws off the curve. Alas, it'll have to be another 20 years.

Loved this book. Read it quite a few years ago and loaned it out, obviously never got it back. Wish I could give some thoughtful, intelligent review but I read it so long ago!! Highly recommend! Such a different premise.

I liked the predicament that the protagonist faced in the current day, but I didn't care as much about the backstory and how he got there (which ended up being most of the book). I don't think I care too much for the character's voice or the ending either.

I actually can’t stop laughing at all of the people using their reviews of this book to talk down on Chuck Palahniuk. This writing is incredibly similar. Detail oriented with a plot twist you know is coming but just can’t figure out.
