I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this book, or what rating to give it.
On one hand, the concept is brilliant and the execution is flawless.
The writing is wonderful and there are bits of the story that are tantalising and 'fit' with the series, the film and the two existing books.
So 5 stars easily for these elements.
BUT
The actual subject matter of UFO's and aliens isn't what I was expecting, isn't at all what I got from any of the existing material and it's really not my thing. Too much X Files for my liking.
So 1 star for the majority of the content.
I guess that gives a 3 overall, I want to give it more but the content stops me and it also puts me off watching the new series when it comes out.

3.5 stars probably, but it did give me hours of enjoyment, so rounding up.
Hard to write any kind of review about this that isn't 100% Twin Peaks rambles - rambles that have, by the way, already been rambled by much more eloquent people than myself.
In short: I liked it. I went through a period of intense fascination with UFO lore and conspiracy theories myself, but this was way back when before the internet was much of a thing, so I'd never gone this deep down the rabbit hole. The book serves up quite a trip! Which was fun. Though obviously, my favorite parts was everything it revealed and rewrote about Twin Peaks and its inhabitants.
The audio book (obviously) doesn't have the images and illustration of the original tome, but it is wonderfully read. As I struggled to parse the grainy "handwriting" of the e-book sample, I'm glad I went with a book where I could get all the words - if not all the carefully hidden clues and nuances. (That's what the internet is for!)

Me skipping a lot of the pages so I can just read about the characters I care about.
Honestly though, the ending of this book is almost as haunting as the season 2 finale. Major Briggs writing M.A.Y.D.A.Y. kind of sends a shiver down your spine.
