This review is my thoughts on the first and second books of this trilogy. The first book started off so well I was really intrigued and loving the world. I am one of those people that loved the darkling so as soon as everything happened with the darkling I started disliking the book. I hate how Alina just ran away when she found out about the darkling and I hate the whole plot of the second book with finding the amplifiers it just fell flat for me and was so boring. I did really like Nikolia in this book but that was about the only part of the book I enjoyed. I really didn't like either Mal or Alina and the chemistry was no were to be found between them. I love Leigh Bardugo but I had to DNF this series.

Saved slightly by the last 80 pages but the rest was just so slow. She does nothing except walk about a school depressed for like 250ish pages

Took me 10 days longer to get through this book that I would normally get through a book of this length - why are the chapters 25 pages each
