Great book that mixed politics, wealth and the dark side of a new country. The struggles of fitting into a family, of having no family, crime, corruption, love, hate, lust and of course vices. Also, quite dark but a great read.

A book that came with a bang and a big hype. Author has tried to write another Sacred Games and am sure she will be able to successfully have the book adapted into a screenplay.

A 544 page read is a long book to tolerate the musings of the author. She opens many threads and in the end it seems she was in a rush. An abrupt end with lots of open stories and unnecessary twists and turns . Also at many places the editor seems to have forgotten to edit. The book starts interestingly, holds the reader only to let go at many places. The book never called me back to it when i left it to read other books which you by now know that i read.

Not worth spending weeks on this. Give it a pass unless you are really keen to read the author.

Age of Vice is gritty and unflinching. It felt voyeuristic to look into the lives of the characters, all of whom painted vastly different pictures of their reality in India. These realities were woven together to create a captivating storyline that I could easily see as an action-packed series. I struggled to feel very invested in any one character, but for a long book it held my attention.

A four star book until page 500 where it introduces an entirely new character, who is kind of important to the rather messy end, and gives him a 40 page back story that I'm just not interested in...

DID NOT FINISH: 53%

The beginning of the book is so strong that when you move up the class ladder and follow the wealthy, it cannot sustain the pace . 53% and I just didn’t care what happened to the other characters once the holes were filled in for Ajay’s portion.

I hope to pick this one back up later. It’s just not the vibe I’m craving currently. I’m struggling to get into it.
