I think I'm at 3.5. Vice is certainly the case. Beginning quite brutal but then I got into each character's perspective and learning where they came from and what they were dealing with. Sympathetic to their situation. Ajay and Neda... yes... the ending was a little bit anti-climactic but did some conclusion. Quite a bit difficult to read at parts.
Having been to India (but only once) it was possible to visualize the settings but given only once, not really grasp the situation fully. I did ride in an auto, though. :)

A thrill ride from start to finish in prose that is razor sharp but still lush. Absolutely fantastic.

Was a bit torn about how to rate this. The writing is compelling, but the ending just didn’t seem at all fitting to the entire journey we’re taken on in the first half of the book. I don’t need a happy ending in a book, and the ending wasn’t entirely awful, but the end left me feeling unsatisfied and confused.
