This book started strong - loved Ajay and then again with Neda. But the last half got weirder and stranger and the end was so confusing. I’d say it was just me but so many others have no idea what the last 20% of the (very long) book was about.
Rating: 3.6
What was this book? I couldn't tell you. By the end of this book, I found myself feeling as if I just finished 3 books in 1. There was just simply too much. You started at Point A and somehow ended up at Point 35. It almost seemed as if there was no real plot with this book and I want to say it was character driven, but it really wasn't. It just simply was words on pages.
That being said, it was a very fun and engaging read, and I did enjoy myself reading this. However, I had expectations of what I might receive from this book and those expectations were thrown out the window. I genuinely thought I would love these characters, but I ended up hating probably all of them. Neda's character was so 1 dimensional that it hurt to read from her POV after some time. Sunny, I just simply hated. And Ajay was great until he wasn't. I liked this book and I didn't and that's the review.

This was a nothing book for me. What, after all that, was the point?
- Every character was one-dimensional and utterly unsympathetic, even Ajay. Despite spending so much time with all of them we never get to know them well, much less like them
- I didn't vibe with the writing style, which I thought put a lot of distance between the reader and the characters
- So much happened that just...had no point. Sunny's kidnapping, his child with Neda, his being Vicky's son. So much of it just had no relevance to the overall plot
- Where the hell was the editor here?? I liked the first few pages; Ajay's story was interesting, but it fell apart and got boring so fast
- Sorry, but I just don't care about the dissolution of rich, privileged men. Boring. Show me someone with some real problems
- This was billed as a mystery, and the premise was interesting, but it never quite lived up to it. When the reveal happened I couldn't bring myself to care, really
- No one ever...solves their problems here. There are no resolutions, no endings, no nothing. So much of this book just felt kinda pointless
I see this book is supposed to be part of a trilogy but I can't fathom going through two more books of this. Won't be returning to this author.
