I picked up a copy of this charming, pithy pocket pamphlet at the Jane Austen centre in Bath. I love that she wrote it when she was but 16 (such writing chops!) and that the illustrations were by her sister Cassandra. Very short but very fun.

If only my own students wrote with so much wit... though I'll be satisfied by their being more accurate.

i love how her wit and humour shines through in her juvenilia, she really was ahead of her time!

What can I say? Jane Austen's brilliant wit was alive and well when she was 16. She never ceases to amaze and inspire me.
