When a tragedy happens at the HBOT Miracle Sub, is it truly any one person's fault? There are those who are guilty for their direct actions, those whose actions contributed indirectly, and those who are innocent but still guilty.

Life is not black and white, and Angie Kim does a fantastic job at writing the intricacies of murder trials, parenting children on the spectrum, health issues and medical trial/treatment options, parenting in a foreign country and so much more.

Kim's writing is beautifully riveting and I will read anything she creates.

LOVED this book! Great characters, original setting and plot, with three different time periods (the trial, the day of the fire, and the story of the family's migration to the US). I particularly enjoyed reading about the experiences of a teenage migrant and her parents, as most stories of migrant experience I've read are about adult migrants and then their kids who are born in the 'new' country. Also was interesting to see the different experiences and perspectives of parents of children with special needs. Gripping,if sad, read
