Winston Graham has once again written a lovely novel. It was a bit hard to get into, but once you understand where the story is going it is a really enjoyable read, especially the last 130 ish pages!
As for Stephen... I was sceptical, mostly because of Winston Grahams other character named Stephen, from the Poldark novels, a character i hate with a passion, but as it turned out i was right to feel apprehensive about this Stephen too. I am glad that she choose not to go with him, but possibly end up with Robert Birch. The ending did suprise me, Winston Graham really excel at writing the ending that you did not nessesarily expect. I really loved Cordelias character, with all the hardships that she had to face. And lastly Uncle Pridey was so sweet
