After the last few Virgin River books left me feeling kind of meh, I took a few month break from the series. Forbidden Falls though, made me remember why I love this series so much.

Ellie is a fierce leading lady. She's been handed one of the worst sets of cards, but she handles it all with such positivity, grace, and strength and I just absolutely loved her. I really enjoyed the relationship between her and Noah. I liked Noah's character as a whole too, he's the kind of pastor you would want in your corner: not judgemental, kind, helpful.

The custody aspect of this had me absolutely FUMING. I felt the story was really thoughtfully done and showed the unexpected struggles that parents sometimes have to go through in these situations.

The one thing that did bother me about this book was the misogyny and how women were described sometimes. This is something that tends to bother me in most of Carr's novels but it was over the top in this one.

Overall, this was a fantastic story and it felt good to be back in Virgin River with the crew.

So me, a catholic, read a book about a pastor. Doing stuff. Sexily. Never thought this would be something I liked, but I like anything Virgin River.

As always, I love that the story doesn't always finish with the happily ever after. That's a sort of a beginning for a couple and the author has made this a series that focuses on the community and always gives us a glimpse into the other characters that we love.

I do want more Jack and Mel please and thank you.
