I enjoyed Noah's and Ellie's story. Another abusive relationship tackled well enough. Now, as far as Paul getting a child in a will? Hmm, I had to suspend my belief, but it's fiction so I shall give it a pass.

Loved this one. Many layers to the story. One of my favorites from this series so far.

The past couple of books in this series have gotten really good. They are still full of romance but they are starting to cover some heavier topics.

As much as I love the Virgin River series by Robin Carr, I was putting off starting this book. I knew it was about a minister- and being non-religious myself, I didn't think I would be able to connect with it the way I did with the other books. To my surprise, Carr made Noah an actual person. He didn't make him holy, or untouchable, or spouting bible verses every five minutes. She made him a flawed, caring, well-meaning human. I loved the fact that his father was a TV evangelist and he was turned away from religion, until he discovered what being a truly religious person meant, and went into the seminary to simply help people. (What a concept.) The introduction of Ellie made the plot interesting. There was no mystery as to what was going to happen- but I was interested to see the journey that got them there. Her ex-husband threw some intrigue into the mix. Noah fit right into Virgin River, and I loved to see all the other characters growing and maturing in their relationships as well. Reading a new VR novel is like visiting old friends- and I can't wait to come back.

Noah is a new Presbyterian minister in Virgin River and needs an assistant. In walks Ellie Baldwin who is young, energetic, beautiful, wise behind her years but full of family drama. This is a sweet story of Noah and Ellie coming together and working as a team to resolve all the family issues. The side story pulls Paul and Vanessa back in to the main story as well which was a nice addition. It is another good additional to the virgin river series with more characters to love. Part of what I like about reading these books is the predictability and their formulaic nature. This was no different but that doesn't detract from it's enjoyability. 3.5*

This wasn’t my favorite of the Virgin River books, but it wasn’t bad. The stripper and pastor concept was a little too fake for me, but I loved the dog!
