Very interesting book. Lots of real world examples about how time is measured, and new to me learnings about how much of our corporate time has been defined by slavery and eugenics. Odell did a great job bringing in arguments from “boy boss” and “tech bro” books without being excessively dismissive. She pulls opposing sources and lets them battle it out on the page. I thought that was helpful! With something as fundamental as time, this book gave me a greater understanding of exactly why we should be divesting in these harmful and unnecessarily chaotic modern schedules. I would recommend to someone who is interested in the topic, but know that this is not a relaxing book. It is full of hardship and history of the oppressed. It has some funny examples and philosophical examples, but at times this book was a bit overwhelming. These things are important to read about, but it’s good to have an understanding of the tone of the book before you go in.

Enjoyable. Too many really disparate themes, stories, and anecdotes.i really liked several sections but thought there is too much focus n labor issues. I really liked “Doing Nothing” and this was not as good.
