limccabe's review against another edition
1.0
I could barely finish this short book and had to flip through the final pages. I picked it up to learn more about Hesse and Jung, but was constantly distracted by the complete egotism of the author/ narrator. I was particularly disturbed by the blind depiction of Jung's sexism and his degrading/ essentialist visions of 'the East' (blind in that Serrano does not question these aspects of Jung's thought, but actually agrees with and celebrates them). Also Serrano is known for following "esoteric Hitlerism," so that's nice.
