Good lord. Couldn’t stop reading but traumatic all around. All the trigger warnings.

While a bit predictable, I thought this was a thoroughly engrossing and well written novel, with strong themes of motherhood and and what it means to be a mother. Highly recommend!

Too many characters to keep track of, and not enough happening to keep me interested.

welp! Ashley Audrain is officially a favorite author. after absolutely loving The Push and it becoming one of my favorite books ever, i was a bit nervous to jump into this one. miss Audrain didn’t disappoint!!!!!!!!! it kinda sucks that her books are often marketed as thrillers because they’re NOT. her books are mostly character studies with a hint of mystery in my opinion. one things for SURE is that Ashley Audrain knows how to craft a story that makes you want to keep reading and makes you think about your own morality/life. she definitely has complicated feelings about motherhood, that’s for sure

So.... Not everyone is a horrible, hateful person (or mother)... And we don't have to write/read books that make it seem as though they are!

This one was pretty negative and depressing. I love the Push compared to this one. I kept turning the pages but I definitely wasn’t dying to finish reading it.

It felt incredibly unfinished, I was left with so many questions and would’ve love to know more!!
