Way too brutal for me! But also couldn’t put it down.

Like with The Push I got to the end of this book and couldn't help but feel like I missed something. People were RAVING about this book everywhere I turned and yet when I read it I found it fine at best. I've read better family dramas and better suburban dramas. This one just seemed to drag and go in circles. No one was a nice person other than the kids and truly I didn't care what happened to any of the adults, which made the book feel like a bit of a slog. The idea of the book was cool and the build up was interesting, but so much happened that just didn't need to be part of the story.
