This surprised me. I’m not sure why i had low expectations for this except that maybe because I’ve had not great luck with YA books lately. But this BLEW ME AWAY. So unique and so mysterious. I didn’t predict everything and it was such a wild ride. I loved the representation and the humor through that representation without being preachy - it was very accessible. Definitely recommend to everyone!

Because of books like Hell Followed With Us, I have been really interested in trans horror/thriller books, and this absolutely hit the spot for me. This world was so intriguing, and the plot really had me guessing and grasping until the end! As I look back, I recognize so much of the foreshadowing, and I loved the characters and plot development.

I'm not generally one who reaches for YA often, and I'm often disappointed when I do... But The Honeys is just as strange and captivating as its cover. A slow burn that keeps you turning pages - deliciously weird, queer fun. I'll keep it short and sweet and say pick this one up for The Last Time I Lied x Bunny x Mexican Gothic vibes.

A perfectly serviceable surreal mystery with a solid concept, but the pacing of the novel and its climactic reveals were not done any favours by the bland and predictable characters making up the cast.

a gripping story from the beginning. nothing makes sense until it does. the twists kept me turning pages. as a trans person i can see the continual discussion of gender getting annoying and over explained at times, but gendered environments like camp are literally just like that sometimes, making the tension and exposition necessary. other than that i thought this book was a great read! i enjoyed the lyrical qualities it had at times, and the plot was nothing short of phenomenal.
