The way the characters developed and grew was really touching.
I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone. I think fans of Gideon the Ninth would also find this enjoyable!

Not sure what I was expecting but it wasn't this.
Some parts were slightly humorous but almost all of the twists you can see coming if you've read any scifi or mysteries.
I skipped MINUTES in the audiobooks because of some of the descriptions of violence.

(also utterly baffled by the "voice pitch = gender" choice. Those Are Robots. why would it work like that. how would that work for anyone whose pronouns arent he or she)
Graphic: Gun violence, Genocide, Murder, Violence, and Death
Moderate: Child death, Fire/Fire injury, Gore, and Sexual content
Minor: Ableism
The "cannibalism" content warnings from other users are a bit misleading; there is no what you're likely to think of as "actual" cannibalism in the book. There is, however, a lot of robots killing each other to use the other's parts, which the characters refer to as cannibalism once or twice.bookcaptivated's review against another edition

The story was really captivating from the very first page. I found the dystopia/paradise/dystopia plotline to be really fascinating and well constructed. The characters were fantastic and disturbingly human considering they were all robots. But I suppose that was one of the major themes of the book after all! Anyway, read this.
