Looks like the trilogy within this series is concluded. This time, we find Griffin & Vickie stopping in Baltimore for a quick vacation as they work their way to Virgina. She's ready to start the academy.
However, a strange dream featuring Edgar Allan Poe ties into current events. Their short vacation is now an active case, while Adam works on getting the Krewe an official invite.
It's been fun watching Griffin and Vickie working as a team. She's getting much more confident in trusting her abilities, as she gets used to the team trusting in her. It's super fun watching her try to solve Poe's case, as it ties to the current murders.

This is the second book of this series that I've read and I didn't really enjoy the first but thought I'd give it another chance. The problem isn't the subject matter, rather the style of writing. I find the dialogue very stilted and unnatural, too many superlatives are used and the characters are kind of shallow and contradictory to type. The only reason I read this to the end is because I wanted to see where the story went with the Edgar Allen Poe storyline. Overall, I was really disappointed.

Awesome, as always, and made even better because the ghost of Poe was in it!
