I didn't know anything about Trevor Noah going into this book, and found it an entertaining read. Intense experiences and serious issues approached with humor. It made me want to go watch his stand up specials, and also do more research on South African history.
The one small quibble I have is that I found the jumping around in his life to be hard to follow because I prefer a memoir to be chronological or at most have two timelines. The structure was more vignette-oriented.

I loved this so much. There was no part of this that I didn't enjoy, and I actually learned a lot too. I knew very little about apartheid before reading this and now I know little bit more, and will definitely be on the lookout for more memoirs about this era in South Africa. If you have any interest at all in Trevor I would 100% recommend reading this. Especially listening to the audiobook, as Trevor's voices were hilarious and really kind of feels like he's just telling you stories from his childhood.
