I enjoyed the storyline but really struggled with the writing. It markets itself as an adult book but often seemed more like a young adult book with some of the language used a bit cringey and not realistic. I enjoyed the main moral of the story that you don't need someone else to make yourself happy and felt inspired like Lizzie to take up a new hobbie! I listened on audio and loved Emily Atack's narration, this really made the book better for me. Overall I did enjoy this fun and lighthearted read but isn't something I would rave about!

We could all do with a bit of wonderful right now ⭐️
This isn’t my favourite Gi book if I am honest, it’s a lovely read and a good addition to any girly literature collection. It follows the tale of Lizzie who thinks it is all planned out until the long awaited proposal doesn’t turn out how she expected. There is good humour and the book is very lighthearted exploring how Lizzie adapts to being single again.
This is not about a search for a new man which is what you would expect, but the search for a new life and purpose.

Just a light and entertaining, quick read. Wasn't her best, but not her worst. Nice, fast read after a stressful week.

I got surprised by this book. I wasn't sure about it but I borrow the audiobook from the library so I thought "At least I don't pay anything for this".
From the plot, you might think the book is about a drama that broke up. Well the first and (maybe) the second chapter is about the end of the relationship. Then the rest of the book is the story of this woman who after 10 years is single again and re-discovers herself with new hobbies, and friends.
Who doesn't feel lost and alone after 10 years in a relationship?
