Despite their simplicity (or is it because of their simplicity?) I am thoroughly enjoying the Heist Society series. I found this second installment even better than the first.

These books are my guilty pleasure. You can't not love them and feel your mind wander into imagining what it would be like to a teenage thief.

Uncommon Criminals, like Heist Society was a quick, easy and a very fun read. The plot was upped, this theft job was harder than the last that Kat and her crew pulled off.
I love the Hale/Kat dynamic Carter has written. I love their relationship.

This is a book I recommend reading if you not looking for anything too serious.

- These books are really fun! I'm enjoying them a lot.

- The tension between Kat and Hale gets ramped up a bit in this book. I loved it!

- I love that the story keeps the reader guessing. There is always a bit of mystery and suspense. I had no idea how Kat was going to pull off this particular "heist" until it was revealed. I also love the mystery surrounding certain characters.

- The characters are so much fun! Not only is the main character awesome, but the supporting cast is equally as awesome. I usually don't like characters like Gabrielle, but she makes me laugh, and I can't help but love her. Hale is really winning me over, and I love Uncle Eddie and Charlie. Even the "bad guys" are fun.

- I think it is really clever that the author made up pieces of art and gems for these books. I would not be that creative. Ally describes these valuables in a way that makes you think they are legit too.

- I can't wait to read the third book!

Do you think there was a love so big it could curse anyone who went against it?

I love Ally Carter. I love everything she writes.

I like this second book much more than the first one. Kat is more mature and had new questions to answer to herself, and Hale is more serious. It looks like they're growing up :P Love the tension between them... bufff... Please, it has to happen something in the next book, anything!! *sigh*

The only thing I didn't understand entirely:
SpoilerWas uncle Eddie the whole time in Monaco or only at the very end during the Emerald Exhibition?

This book was just a lot of fun. I enjoyed it immensely, and cannot wait to read the third book in the series. As soon as I opened this book, I was immersed in the book, and impressed with the characters. When the heroine is amazing and kick-ass, the book immediately becomes likable.

One thing - at first I was very annoyed with Kat's obsession with "the kiss". Like, don't you have other things to do? Like get the Cleopatra jewel back?? But then closer to the end my annoyance got put off, because apparently Kat wasn't waking out because OMG SHE'D KISSED HALE but because he left her after she did that, and she felt betrayed and alone or whatever.

So yeah, a by fun and good read. Ally Carter rocks!!

Uncommon Criminals was a good surprise. The first one was a forgettable story, and I didn't have much fun with the characters as with the second book in the series.

It starts a few months after Heist Society ended. If you remember - I didn't - Katarina Bishop and her crew robbed the Henley, one of the most secure museums in the world. Now, it's their mission to steal the Cleopatra Emerald, said to be cursed, and give it back to it's rightful owners.

This book was just fun and a breeze of fresh air. I liked must of it and the plot twists were unexpected and really added a lot to the story. I liked the way it was written - the author never tells the plan, only when the action is happening, which can avoid a lot of repetition. More, the character are well-developed and very likable. A good read, from start to finish.

my main issue with this book is that I kept trying to guess what's going to happen, drawing on my extensive knowledge of ally carter books and my completely limited knowledge about heist stuff, but that's more a me problem than a problem with this book. maybe I should just stop doing that and enjoy the book but also this is the perfect series to point fingers at all the characters being like I DON'T TRUST YOU! anyways this is literally the perfect lockdown read
