I've been dying to start reading some detective club novels and this looked brilliant. Although I found it a novel way of creating a story (the whole thing except the very end was a series of statements at court from each witness to a murder) the pace was a tad slow for me at times. However, it really perked up towards the end and the conclusion was excellent. It certainly hasn't put me off reading the D.C.
