Damiano and Renata are my favorite couple from these books, but I’m really disappointed by this book. There were too many chapters from the previous book inserted in this one. I didn’t get it why it wouldn’t just continue the story, since it’s a duo. I liked their story and the way the author formed their characters. I liked them together and that’s it. I wish I would’ve enjoyed a little more this book, instead of skipping chapters. Anyway, even though I was a little disappointed they are still my favorite couple and characters from these books. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars only for Damiano and Renata.

Looking for a great mafia, suspense, second chance romance? Look no further, this story has it all! Parker S Huntington weaves Damiano and Renata's story, 10 years after we first saw them meet. It's sexually charged, has brilliant character and is everything I love in a book. Second chances, especially in the five syndicates does not come easy, and these two have a touch road to find their way back to each other. Plus there is a twist in this book I didn't see coming that is oh so sweet! Loved it, loved the epilogue with a reunion of all the characters I have come to love and can't wait to see what Huntington has in store for us next.

Zachary Webber and Desiree Ketchum are the perfect choices for this story. I am so glad they continued their narration after Renata. Webber has a way of giving Damiano a darker vibe with his voice as he is commanding with his family, and at the same time, has a softer side with Renata. It shines through and makes us love Damiano. Ketchum is Renata, with a feisty and passionate voice, giving her that spunk and bravado. I love her as she becomes the character and makes her so realistic. The duet is wonderful and a fantastic listen.

This is a good second chance romance story! It was a fun read but just didn’t capture my heart like most mafia romances do.

A second chance romance with a lot of conflict and angst. But the payoff is well worth it.

I’m about to be brutally honest here

This book was pretty bad. There was zero drama, angst or action. All of which are typically present in mafia books. Damian was in no way believable as a mafia head. He was pretty weak. Renata was not likeable. The reasons for Renata originally leaving Damian and then Damian doing the same were absolutely ridiculous and laughable. The “twist”? Entirely obvious. I’ve read other books by this author and enjoyed them, so I’m going to assume this one is a one off

Another amazing story from the Five Syndicates!
DeLuca and Vitali are a match made in Heaven, or wherever they match up Mafioso.
I love a second chance and a slower burning story and this gave me everything and then some.
Huntington has been weaving the bigger picture for us, and finding out exactly what it was and who was behind The Benefactor was absolutely mind blowing.
The strategy and cunning were just brilliance on Huntington’s part.
That ending? All the warm fuzzies.
Knight & Day at their absolute best.

He was her damsel as she was his knight

They wasted ten years of their lives away from each other. Although Damiano De Luca spent that time trying to find Renita Vitali, she made sure he could not find her by using her syndicate connections. She was deathly afraid of commitment, but she was told that she is a Vitali and they aren't afraid of anything. Both she and Damian fell in love with each other as teens, but so many lies had been told by everyone, they did not know who to trust. They were being played from the very beginning as pieces in a chess game. Renita thought she was a knight but found out years later, that she was only a pawn in the Benefactor's games to unite the five syndicate families. Every time Damiano and Renita thought they could make a go at their relationship, something from their past would throw a wrench into the works.

This story made me so mad with how stubborn both Damiano and Renita were. They were each other's first and only love but they were too afraid to take that leap. Neither one was happy without the other one until Damiano took a stand and fought for her. Neither one of them had good examples of love and relationships to follow, but they finally got their act together for their HEA.

The storyline was okay, I just got tired of the stubbornness. I loved the quotes throughout the book though. But, this book needs to be reclassified. It is neither multicultural nor I.R.
