the main problem people have with this book is its different writing style. i have to say i think the people who judge this books writing are people who reject fresher, more unique ways of storytelling.
this book was truly wonderful, fractured and dazed, both in sentence structure and in plot. it felt cohesive within its justified splatter of memories. it feels like an inner monologue in real time with creative add-ons.
although the dialogue did feel a bit unnatural for young people at specific times, the main 4 were generally well written, compelling characters and a heart-string pulling group.
it’s a story about youth and it’s battles with what came before it and cut its wings. it’s a tragic story about youth attempting to regain its wings and, ultimately, regain its right to love and loss.
i firmly believe whoever disliked this simply didn’t understand it and wasn’t open to its style of writing. ive been over this with ‘normal people as well’… stop dismissing books because they offer a different way of storytelling!!! authors are humans and humans think and express themselves in different ways that’s part of the beauty of art!!!!!
it’s definitely worth a read.

I have to say the only thing I really enjoyed about this book was that it did leave me wanting to know what really happened after each chapter. Other than the huge ending twist I’d say nothing else really stood out about this book. The writing style was extremely choppy and just so so. The main character was extremely unrelatable and whiny and all the “liars” were also extremely whiny and annoying. I did give it two stars for a very interesting plot twist I just really wish it was executed much differently.
