I appreciated that the narrator's disability was told from his own point of view, and that Whalen Turner wrote him well and thought deeply about how his disability and the world's ableism would affect him. I thought the ending was a good wrap up for the series (and disagree about the characterization of the books as stand alone novels-- you really do need to read them in order for them to make sense). Overall quite enjoyable.

I love this series. Love it. Eugenides is one of those characters who you can laugh at and be terrified of by turns, and it's believable. I read the first book in this series, what, twenty years ago, and have gone back to these books again and again as new installments come out.
I love a good trickster, but they are hard to do well. Turner does it right, though. I am hesitantly optimistic that the end of this book hints at the possibility of a new series to take place in fifteen or twenty years from the end of this story. Looking at you Ms. Turner.
