Lilly as a character did not seem to be characterized correctly. (1) Mr. Joseph Levi has a whole gun armory in his closet and she doesn't think about the possibility that he might have killed someone. (2) When his brother visits she literally grabs a gun just in case. But then yet she gets pissed off at him for not telling her that he has killed people. Like IDK girly the clues were all there

She also gets over killing someone VERY quickly and we don't really see that growth at all. She's like out of it for one day and that's it so idk kinda wacky.

Overall very mid, not my favorite characters at all. Just eh ya know

The smut scenes are alright, sometimes I just feel like the books in the series are way to predictable and all the men are the same and all the women are the same.

Man is super rich and damaged from his past or his screwed up family, has some kinks and goes to this super exclusive club to find someone. The person they find is always some young girl, a college student who is financially going through a rough time and needs money quick. Oh… and she has some trauma that the man can heal her.

I wasn’t expecting this to be a mafia romance, my first dabble into this genre. Not sure I enjoyed the mafia storyline.

I do have the fourth book and I’ll be reading it sometime this year.

Another great book in this series! I liked the way Joseph was willing to compromise to make sure Lilly was comfortable. He was a lot nicer than he seemed in the other books. And I really related to the way he communicated through writing. I was glad that he was so open with her, even if it was difficult for him to voice things. And I liked Lilly’s curiosity. For once, the heroine’s interests didn’t derive from some sort of trauma. She’s just a bookworm who, like me, hates cliffhangers.

The third installment in the Highest Bidder series is about Lilly a guidance counselor who gets laid off because the program she is working for runs out of money and Joseph a former member of the mafia. Lilly is a virgin at the beginning of the story with very romanticized thoughts and being with Joseph helps her grow up and have more realistic expectations. I liked how Joseph also changed throughout the book learning to accept his tragic childhood. The two of them complimented each other very well in the end and I was glad there was a happy ending for them.

This scratched the itch of dark romance, brooding and overprotective hero who acts like he doesn't love the heroine but would commit war crimes for her if it was ever called for. There was amazing tension, phenomenal smut, and an alpha hero to drool over who had a precious pet name for his girl.

Over all he Highest Bidder series does follow the same formula in each book and they are a tad predictable but they are also addicting and fun to read especially when you are in the mood for the things listed above.
