Still not a fan of these characters, still feels like a TV drama/soap opera.. but will likely still finish the series (sigh). Also, the pregnancy trope 🤦🏻‍♀️ (not even a spoiler based on when this comes into play…)

This was the book were Rush proved himself. Ieah, he has his faults, but who doesn’t? I have to say that I didn’t liked Blaire so much in this book, but I’m going to blame it on her pregnancy hormones. She was too unsure of herself and always looking for a reasons to let Rush go. In the end I liked the book, for a second time reading it I have to admit that it’s more addictive than the first time. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars and I can’t wait to read the next one.

More of the same but still good

Blair got a bit annoying in this one. Felt like playing the victim and not seeing clearly, but I suppose it happened when you are dealing with a ton of stuff. I did enjoy Rush chasing her which he was barely doing before. Ahhh sometimes it is just good to read some brainless romance that washes up some of your emotions.

That was a complete and total emotional rollercoaster. I wasn't sure about how it would go until the very end. Way to keep me in stitches. Well played Mrs Glines, well played! Did anyone else get the feeling nan and grant where together? Cuz I sure did! Great book!

I really enjoyed this book and learning more and more about Rush and Blair. I have to admit though, some things really got to me though. I get Blair is insecure but seriously? Come on girl, give your head a shake! You'd be stupid if you didn't see that Rush loves you by now.

Spoilers ahead.....you've been warned

So Blair is pregnant. Are we surprised? I wasn't. It was bound to happen. What does the poor scared girl do? She runs away.....acting like she's doing the right thing. Okay, can we stop and take a moment to remember all the crap she dealt with before she went to Rosemary Beach? Her sister dying, her father leaving and then taking care of her sick mother and paying for everything?!? I said I loved her spirit for being strong and grown up and I almost feel like I have to take that back now. Her father ran, she was without a father, and before that she found out another family (Nan) was without a father and yet she wants to purposely take her unborn child away from a father who wants to be there. Yeah can you tell this irked me to no end?

Thankfully, Rush didn't take no shit and I have to say what an effing gentlemen!! I'm still a sucker for these two and I'm glad they worked out many issues they really needed to work out. Plus, I loved being able to read from Rush's point of view ;)

Still a great series to read!!

Check out my Too Far trilogy series review here: https://freadomlibrary.wordpress.com/2015/12/14/series-review-too-far-trilogy-by-abbi-glines/

Critically
Plot – 3 out of 5 stars
This just had way too much drama for me. It took it to an over exaggerated level. There was angst, anger, vulnerability and growth. But it was too much in such a short amount of time.

Writing Style – 3.5 out of 5 stars
Simple but verbose. Sometimes it was really immature. But it was angsty, addicting and easy to read. It sucks you in and doesn’t let go, no matter how much you want to.

Characters – 3 out of 5 stars
I was not a fan of them at all.
Blaire is weak and scared. She’s really vulnerable and hurt in this installment, but she takes life by the horns and becomes strong and fierce considering what she’s dealing with.
Rush tries to redeem himself. The last book left him in a bad light and he’s apologetic and determined. He’s kind of on a rollercoaster ride since he’s scared and hurt and torn about a lot of his surroundings.

Emotionally
SpoilerConsidering how much I loved Abbi’s Sea Breeze series, I can say I was a bit disappointed with this series.

The second book just got worse to be honest. If I thought the first one was dramatic, it had absolutely nothing on this one. There was a huge revelation at the end of the last book which ends with Blaire taking off back to Alabama so that’s where we begin. But she doesn’t have enough money to get started and then this huge thing is revealed which was not as much of a shock as I’m sure the author thought it would be and it creates a whole bunch more complications. For such a short book because it’s the shortest of the three, there were so many things going on! There was drama and angst and people being emotional. So much back and forth between the main characters. It was just exhausting and to be quite honest, really immature and juvenile considering what was going on was actually quite serious. This is the book where Blaire got on my last nerve. She was so incredibly annoying. She was immature and childish, like a petulant 5 year old. But I did understand why she was doing it and where she was coming from but that didn’t stop me from being irritated to hell and back. Rush was a bit too intense in this book as well. He was almost practically in a stalker mode. But I did appreciate how he tried to take care of Blaire and how they slowly fixed their relationship.
