So I started reading this to take a break from all the dark, emotional, honestly depressing shit that I normally read lmao and it was good for like… 65-70% of the read.
It was sexy and cute… like any other romance with a sprinkle of spice. It wasn’t crazy good though and I’ll probably forget all about it after I post this review 😅 It really was just a filler read.
Main bone to pick with the whole thing is how insufferable Clara got during the whole “lover’s conflict” portion of the book. It was weird to see her acting like that despite being so open, sex-work positive for the large majority of the book. I also find it hard to believe that someone as smart— the author’s words, not mine— as Clara would invest in a business called Shameless without thoroughly thinking through what that could mean for her other career.

I absolutely loved this book, and watching Clara and Josh gradually fall together. I appreciated the normalization of women’s pleasure and the sex industry as well! I think this book had a lot of topics it tried to cover and it did a great job overall! I can’t wait to read the next one!

Me gustó, es un romance cursi y lleno de clichés pero muy adorable. Y muy *sexy* 😳. También está buena la reflexión y el análisis que Rosie Danan hace sobre la industria pornográfica. Es un libro super sex positive que busca darle una vuelta de tuerca a los temas que trata. Desde mi visión feminista personal, estoy a favor del trabajo sexual siempre que sea con consentimiento y derechos laborales, así que está bueno que haya un contemporary romance que tenga como protagonistas trabajadores sexuales y lo encare con responsabilidad.

a really awful cover (I’m sorry that’s the truth), many, many, many metaphors (so many that I started annotating them) and a lot of steamy scenes await you. All in all, not a bad read, don’t really have anything to complain about (except maybe the cover) but there was just something missing.
