The curiosity I had regarding the author's political leanings kind of fueled my interest in this book, but I must admit that this was a quick read. Instead of writing an essay, this book more feels like a simple thesis with hundreds of pages worth of stories to back it up. This is my first attempt at reading a non-fiction book about times that I fully remember as an adult, and it's kind of weirdly insightful seeing this time period from another's perspective.

However, this book goes through great lengths to show why Joe Biden's decision to run again in 2024 was a huge mistake--especially in the second half, Tapper and Thompson repeat again and again  that the public was unhappy with Biden and his presidency. But I wish this book was more honest about all of the reasons behind the general public's unhappiness with Biden. I'd be a fool to say that everyone hated Biden's handling of Palestine and Israel's latest attacks on Palestinians, but to act like this wasn't a major sticking point for some feels like a purposeful blind spot that this book constantly dances around in favor of sticking to the point of Biden being too old to run.

Still an interesting  book. It just really disappointed me on that one front.
