this was such a different story than i've come to expect from kylie scott and i loved it. it was great to see her stretch a little bit and not rely on having a wealthy celebrity as her mmc.

This rating might be kind of harsh, but you know what’s worse? Trying to read a book in which the author doesn’t know how to write complete sentences.

This book could have done a lot better.

The premise was unique and I was so excited to dive in, but it left a lot to be desired.

This author’s storytelling was kind of weird. I understand that it was some kind of dry-humor kind of storytelling, but it just didn’t deliver most times. Relied a lot on dialogue—and while I’m one of those people who appreciates storytelling through dialogue, the author wasn’t masterful enough at dialogue to do it right. The dialogue just fell flat most times and sounded stilted and odd.

Also, what’s with this author and their love for “males” and “females”?? I flinched every time. Just use “men” and “women”, the fuck??

This was fun, I liked how it jumped RIGHT into the story/action. There were no introductions of the characters until later on, and I loved how that was written.
