What was the plot of this book?
Aelin beating a bunch of demons and out-girbossing Chaol in everything she does. And that’s on being an icon

"I spent centuries wandering the world, from empires to kingdoms to wastelands, never settling, never stopping - not for one moment. I was always looking toward the horizon, always wondering what waited across the next ocean, over the next mountain. But I think ... I think that whole time, all those centuries, I was just looking for you." ❤️
I think this is my favorite in the series so far. Each group has found their rhythm and each character has clear motivations moving them along

I flew through this and liked the story enough to give this 4 stars, HOWEVER...
1) I am not a fan of ROWAELIN. I am not generally against those two being together. But that ridiculously over the top co-dependent kind of relationship? That's fan fiction-level. Both of them are supposed to be strong, independent characters and all they can do anymore is gush about each other. Jeez...
2) I HATE what SJM did to Chaol. I mean, after all that happened between them and how much Celaena/Aelin has changed, I can live with them not ending up together (I find it highly unlikely that both Rowan and whatshername will be killed off). They don't really match anymore. But Chaol's character development in QoS (as little as there is of it) is just horrible... And this new love interest of his (let's make it a former love interest that has never been mentioned before so that we don't have to develop it so much...) obviously was not important enough to give the girl a personality... I really hope they get a LOT more time in the next book (traveling to the southern continent and all).

Wow. This book is amazing. My regular critiques of Maas’ writing remain, but the plot, character development, and hope written in every page had me reading nonstop.

One of the best ones so far! Now that we are past lots of the worldbuilding/set up the action picked up a lot for this book!! My one qualm was that the "twists" were mostly all the same - this piece of jewlery/rock is special and will be used against Aelin...but wait - it was a fake! (Valg ring with Arobynn, Wyrdkey with Lorcan, Eye of Elena with the King of Adarlan)
