Een miljardair (sorry ik weiger het volgens de verkeerde vertaling te noemen) en een leuk meisje ontmoeten elkaar als ze door een storm in een lift vast komen te zitten.
Ik vond deze toch stukken minder leuk dan het eerdere deel dat ik las. Waarom? Wel, ik vond Logan gewoon een kwal, een grote grote kwal. Ten eerste loog hij tegen Brönte over wat hij in het hotel deed (goed, dat kon ik nog enerzijds snappen, maar kom op je seks met haar dus hup hup vertel het maar eens). Daarna koopt hij tot 2 keer toe haar werk op omdat hij met haar wilt praten (echt wie doet dat?). En dan snapt hij gewoonweg niet dat ze echt in hem geinteresseerd is en niet in zijn geld. Hij snapt gewoon ook niet dat ze een normaal meisje is en niet weet hoe ze met al dat geld en macht moet omgaan. En later denkt hij na een paar dates en wat seks dat ze maar gewoon weer bij hem gaat wonen. Um, nee. Dat is niet hoe dit werkt. En ik vond het jammer hoe hij af en toe best gemene gedachtes had over haar baan als serveerster.
Plus toen ik mijn verloofde dit boek probeerde uit te leggen, vond hij het echt een prequel voor Fifty Shades of Grey, vooral toen ik vertelde dat er ook een helikopter en veel seks was. :P En nee zowel mijn verloofde als ik hebben niet Fifty Shades of Grey gelezen (en willen we ook nooit doen), maar we hebben wel de hilarische trailers van de films gezien, en dan vooral wat mensen er van hebben gemaakt (zoals Honest Trailers), en natuurlijk hoor je er (helaas) nog genoeg over.
En sorry Brönte, kun je alsjeblieft je mond dichthouden met al die irritante quotes van je? Mijn hemel, op elk moment had ze wel een quote. Echt, tijdens de seks, tijdens een date, tijdens haar werk, tijdens een hoogtepunt. Meid, alsjeblieft. Nee. Leuk dat je quotes uit kan spugen, dat is een talent, maar misschien het echt minderen.
Ik vond het wel leuk dat deze twee elkaar ontmoeten door een orkaan, dat is toch een leuk verhaal voor later, als ze ooit kinderen hebben. En ik gok wel dat ze die gaan krijgen.
En zoals ik al in het vorige review zei, en ook in elke review zal zeggen. Wie heeft bedacht dat een billionaire aka miljardair nu opeens een miljonair is? Zelfs Logan zegt dat ie meer dan een miljoen heeft. Meerdere keren. En dat mag al blijken trouwens uit het feit dat hij zoveel huizen heeft, auto's heeft, en bedrijven. Hemeltje.
Natuurlijk is er ook genoeg seks, gelukkig niet zo cringy als in het andere deel dat ik las. Ik vond het soms iets te veel, dus soms heb ik er gewoon snel over heen gelezen. Sorry, ik ben gewoon nog niet heel comfortabel met seksscenes lezen.
Er was ook genoeg drama en sorry ik zat vaak gewoon met mijn ogen te rollen om alles. Ik snap enerzijds wel waarom Brönte deed wat ze deed, en ik zou waarschijnlijk ook hetzelfde gedaan hebben. Maar het zou wel fijn zijn als mensen het snapten. In plaats daarvan kwam het een beetje over alsof het allemaal maar aanstellerij was, zo van je moet maar blij wezen dat je een man aan de haak hebt geslagen die je wilt verwennen. :| Plus het was allemaal zo makkelijk opgelost. *zucht*
Er was ook genoeg leuks hoor, want Logan en Brönte hebben wel een klik. En het hele gestrand in een resort was ook erg leuk om te lezen. Plus we zien Jonathan weer. En we krijgen alvast een voorproefje voor het volgende boek (met Hunter en Gretchen).

Stranded with a Billionaire is the story of a waitress and...you guessed it a billionaire. Poor girl meets attractive guy in a situation that has him forced to notice her. She's pretty but only pretty enough when she is half naked squirming her way out of an elevator.
Pompous, arrogant rich guy...check

Misunderstanding...actually, he lied
After a wild time and the truth comes out, who will be standing where? Is it a passing fling?
It's a fun story but very typical of the genre. I enjoyed it. I'm sure you will too.

Do we love it? Well, no. But we liked it. We liked it and we aren't ashamed!
This is one of the silliest premises for a romance novel that I've ever read, and the main character's name is BRONTE which is kind of insane on it's own. I'm also going to say that it's pretty clear that this book did not have a real editor. Inconsistent tense and perspective, missing quotation marks, grammatical errors abound, and that is distracting to a reader like me. I noticed most of them and I really wish Clare was in a position to spend more money on a proper editor to help avoid some of those understandable errors during the writing process.
With all of that being said, gosh this was a fun read. It was fluffy and romantic and all around lovely considering the characters were stranded on an island during a hurricane. There were a few more serious scenes that did illicit the appropriate stomach churning from me, but I smiled where I was meant to smile and got butterflies where the butterflies were released.
I'm not quite sure what the rest of this series has in store but I'm looking forward to checking them out!

Recently, I've read contemporary romance novels that follow this pattern: boy wants girl, boy is rich and knows he can have what he wants, girl allows boy to treat her however he wants because he is "dark" and "brooding" and she is going to change him, etc. You know the pattern. Knowing this, I was hesitant to start reading a new contemporary romance series that follows a group of men known as the Billionaire Boys Club. Once I read the plot of Stranded with a Billionaire (book one), I was interested enough to give Jessica Clare a chance to show me that she didn't follow the same played-out formula.
Logan Hawkings is a member of one of the most exclusive clubs in the world: the Billionaire Boys Club. Its six members obviously have a massive amount of money, but they also are very success driven and will do whatever it takes to protect their wealth. Unfortunately for Logan, however, the rest of his life isn't falling into place so well, with the recent death of his father and betrayal by his fiancée casting a shadow over his life. He therefore decides to get his head back together with a trip to one of his new business ventures, a private island in the Bahamas. After settling in, a freak hurricane and broken elevator bring a woman named Brontë Dawson into his life. Brontë is just a waitress on vacation, but now she finds herself with the hotel manager to whom she is very attracted. Fast forward a few days and Brontë finds herself in a full-blown relationship with Logan, but she suddenly discovers that he is much more than just the manager of the hotel. Will this revelation threaten to tear their new relationship apart or can Brontë stay and help rebuild Logan's life?
The first thought I had while reading this book was about how likable the characters were. Brontë and Logan hooked me from page one. Brontë is really funny; she's full of snark, intelligence, and a burgeoning self-confidence. She's also got a philosophical saying for everything, which became a running joke for the whole book. What I loved about her the most though was her sense of independence. Logan's money means nothing to her. It doesn't make her want to be with him. She wants Logan the man, not Logan the billionaire. Logan on the other hand is this strong, sexy man who oozes confidence and tranquility. He knows he has the power and means to get what he wants. What money can't buy, he wins with his personality and genuine effort . I know that bundled together, these traits make him seem arrogant. At times he was, but it wasn't an arrogance that turned me off. I've read other contemporary romance novels where the leading men are just disgustingly arrogant, expecting their female counterparts to accept their demeaning behavior. The amount of arrogant leading men in contemporary romance novels has skyrocketed in my opinion, and made me a bit hesitant to try new authors. I'm happy that I gave Clare the chance to wow me with Logan, and I will definitely read about the other five men in her Billionaire Boys Club series. If Clare's witty and sexy writing in Stranded by a Billionaire is any indication of her talent, I'm going to enjoy each and every one of them.

I really wanted to like this book and I was ready and raring to go to read it. Two people stranded on an Island because of a Hurricane? Why not? Maybe slightly far fetched but hey. So Logan is an arse from start to finish he either was mean and had no idea how often he hurt peoples feelings and thinks that money solves all problems it doesn't. I mean buying two buildings just to talk to that person way OTT.
Bronté (very cool name) has no backbone whatsoever she is exactly like her mother. Am I being harsh? Most likely. But it is my opinion. I dkimmed the sex scenes. I can't be with you because I'm only a waitress. Boo hoo and?
In saying that I hope that the second book is better as I like a hero who is scarred.
