I got through this in audio-book format. I figured it would be good for me to read/hear the Bible cover-to-cover.
After slogging through a poorly written, repetitive, redundant (not the same thing as repetitive), and at times horrifically evil book, I am extraordinarily astonished that people take this thing seriously... at least in any positive way. However, I'm glad I completed it. I'm now in an exceptionally small group of people who have made it through this entire book rather than simply reading only the "nice" verses.

A load of old hokey written hundreds of years after the events and re-written to suit a kings political wishes.
The stuff inside the pages of this book is filled with hate, contradiction and has led to nothing less that hundreds of years of hate and war. (That applies to all versions of this book and other so called religious texts!)
Now used as a weapon by Governments to keep you under control.
