This one really just makes a girl wanna move out to the country and ride a horse through the countryside and mountains. But also really not want to do that at the same time.
A historical fiction tale of women’s friendships and empowerment and their traveling library set in Kentucky in the 1920-30s. This one gets 4 stars because it really was slow to get into for me at first but then it steadily gains traction as the plot deepens and the characters develop and the reader gets more and more invested.
Some notes that won’t make sense unless you read it:
- We needed more character development for our boy Fred - if your gonna make him a main character at the end you gotta give us more in the beginning.
-Marjories character development and dimensions and story line were so

I absolutely loved reading about the lives, trials and tribulations of the assorted pack horse librarians. What a beautiful story about the power of friendship and the commitment to increase access to literature for a small rural community.
