I have read and loved Jessica Goodman's other novels but this one I have mixed feelings about. This book started out really strong and I couldn't put it down but in hindsight I think too many details were revealed at the beginning because the late middle of this book was pretty slow. The end felt a little obvious but there was a small twist I didn't expect. I wish the end was fleshed out a little more, I felt like I didn't have all my questions answered. I loved a lot of small things about this book: Goldie, Imogen, and Ava's dynamic as a friend group, the camp vibes, the small town realness. I think the one thing the author always knocks out of the park with her books is the way she creates a relationship between the reader and the murder victim. A lot of authors fail to make me feel like the murder victim is as real as the other characters feel but she nails it every time.
