I really liked this book, but I wish that it was longer.

I really liked the first few chapters which showed the main characters when they were growing up. Scarlett in particular was amazing. I really liked her plan when she was 13, and then what she did when she was 18. I do wonder what sort of deal her grandmother made with the captain.

While I liked what happened when Scarlett was at Hunter and Wolf’s house, I thought that their relationship development could have been more detailed, as it was quite quick.

Scarlett was great, and I really liked Jack because he knew what he wanted. Wolf was sort of shy and I wanted to see more of him when he opened up to Scarlett. Hunter was fine, but I didn’t think that he had much of a personality.

The only side characters in the present are Garth and Francesca, but Garth’s main personality trait was his obsession and Francesca was never actually shown. I wanted more scenes with her.

While the characters weren’t fully developed, I liked the plot and the earlier chapters, so I’ll probably try other books by this author. Also, I want to continue with this series as it has an interesting premise.

Fun quick read

A retelling of Little Red Riding Hood that was sweet and spicy. Enjoyable quick read that left me wanting more of the story. Great fun characters.

I basically stalk this author like all my notifications for her are always on I love all he books.
This book was different for me I don’t generally read retellings of fairytales but this one was wow wow wow
This retelling of Little Red Riding Hood was a steamy Its a short story I loved the modern take from this version, I also thought that the idea of not having shifters for the retelling was very creative. Love this book

I absolutely loved this book, what a start for the series! It was quick, dark, and twisted. Red’s neighbors, Wolf and Hunter, were going through so much pain and suffering and Red wanted to fix it in her own way. Red was definitely not afraid of the big bad wolf. Jack, that is all I have to say, I loved how he progressed the story. I highly recommend this book, but be aware there are triggers.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

How will they react when I show them that their brand of crazy matches mine perfectly?

This was quite a refreshing spin on Little Red Riding Hood. The pace was fast and there was some ok smut towards the end. I enjoyed the route this author decided to take when writing this. The original Little Red is darker than some other fairy tales so there’s already that sinister tone to work with and the author did a great job of just making it their own. I also loved that one of our main male characters was a virgin. My heart always goes gooey for a virgin hero.

That being said I did have a few issues with it.
-While the pacing was fast, the writing was super choppy and didn’t flow as nicely as I would have liked.
-I wish this would have been a whole novel because there’s so many things that needed to be flushed out, explained, and gone into more depth. While we get to see glimpses of their childhoods, I felt like I hardly knew them as adults by the time the novella ended. And I wanted more explanation from our bad guy as to why he did what he did. I felt like he left breadcrumbs but the way it ended kind of left me hanging with questions and craving closure. Instead we are just left with “eh he’s just a crazy obsessive stalker guy with murderous capabilities”.

This, in my opinion, is not smut heavy. We get a scene with each dude (never together in a menage scene) and while they are explicit, it doesn’t last long. I was expecting heavy smut so that’s my bad for having those expectations.

CW: there are scenes of past extreme child abuse (physical, emotional, mental), death of parents/parental figures, kidnapping, present scenes of extreme domestic violence, murder.
