3.5–would have been four, but this was way too short on its own.

This book was probably my least favoutite book of the series. Not much happened in it. I mean, we got introduced to Paul and there was a case but it was still a whole lot of Suze thinking and stuff and not enought action.

Also, I didn't think it would happen, but I didn't like Suze much in this book. It was something I overlooked in the previous book and that is that Suze has a tendency to be kinda... desperate. And it isn't just her constant whining over Jesse. It's also that she kinda gets swayed by hot guys without much difficulty. And yeah, there was a lot of whining over Jesse. I mean, instead of that, she could have kist tried talking to him. But no, she just continued to make assumptions and cry about them. That put me off.

The writing in this book was okay, as ususl. The plot wasn't very interesting. In fact, if this wasn't part of a series, I wouldn't have read since I didn't like the synopsis one bit.

Overall, this book was kinda annoying and even though I didn't hate it and there were parts of it that I liked, I'm glad it's over. Not sure if I'll be reading the next one. (Update: I'm reading it. It's the highest rated book of the series and I wanna know the end.)

P.S. Paul is a complete psychopath.

This felt like fanfiction. Not much happened but 'woe is me' and what little was important could have been split into the other books, I'm sure. It felt stretched out just to make another book and have two guys fighting over Suze.

You know this series is addictive when I continuously read them in a single night, because I just have to know what's going to happen next in Suze's life. And this one was just as entertaining as most of the others, with the previous entry still being the best one so far.

Weirdly, the focus wasn't really on a lost and/or murderous ghost causing problems. We still had one obviously, but it was more of a nonissue, with most of the plot being centered around Suze's interpersonal relationships, specifically with Jesse and Paul, and let me just say, it was just as entertaining and engaging to me. I love Suze, and I was really intrigued by Paul and what he might know and be up to, which we thankfully get a peek at.

But best of all, we got some fantastic scenes between Suze and Jesse, aka one of the cutest paranormal romantic relationships I've seen in a hot minute.

Only one more book in the original series to go!

There was no plot in this installment. The entire book was a repetition of two things:
I love Jesse so much, but he's been avoiding me since we kissed.
Paul is scary and left me for dead, but I'm also kind of attracted to him.

Seriously, that's it. Over and over and over.
