The author has done his job well in researching the life of Símon Bolivar down to the tiniest detail. The book can appear dull at times as the general's reflective mind surfaces, at the expense of thrilling moments of his past. Nonetheless, a great narration that brings the reader close to the main character, getting to know him almost as well as he probably ever knew himself.

As compared to 100yos, much more cultural and historical context feels necessary to properly appreciate. I mean what more can be said about Garcia Marquez. Beautiful, occasionally cryptic, always imaginative writing
