Entertaining if premise and entertaining at first. Jovial and heart warming. But it just goes on and on, without much point; there’s not a strong plot arc, rather an ongoing series of events, and by the end I found I didn’t care much. Shucks. I was hoping this would be easy listening that I would want to continue into the sequels.

The only reason I won't give it a 5 is bc I probably won't reread it in the next 20 years. Its for the trophy shelf tho. I think it should be read by all my friends so we are all on the same page when we end up in the same shitty old people's home. The characters in this book are an inspiration. They didn't just sit around and complain. They got wasted, ate good food, lived luxuriously, came up with criminal schemes, and *spoiler alert* thrived in jail before getting away with it! Shout out to Anders for being a middle-aged baddie and helping mum get that bag.

I loved the concept of this book but somehow reading it ended up being a bit of a chore. The heist trope gets old quick (haha pun). I thought this would be more cute and lighthearted but actually reading it was not as exciting or engaging as I wished. I kept wishing it was shorter. I can’t tell if it was the writing style or something lost in translation. I wish there was something more relatable or humanizing about the characters but they all felt a little one dimensional and cartoony to me.
