A little bit of "but couldn't you just..." but an overall quick thriller, great for the holidays/winter
I enjoyed this a lot. I found the characters to be really engaging, especially our main character, Mira, who I felt had a complete and well-written arc. The rest of the characters, while not as fleshed out as Mira, were interesting enough to carry a compelling mystery. Speaking of the mystery, it mostly worked for me. I did guess the ending perpetrator, however the story has a couple solid red herrings that I think will work well for other readers. My one real complaint is the pacing, which was much too slow for the plot and made the reveals less impactful.
This book was a lovely little YA thriller. It was a nice read and there were some parts I couldn't put down. For the most part, it does read a little juvenile but to be expected since it is in the POV of a high schooler. I enjoyed the book the plot itself wasn't like a big shock ending or anything and imo it did kind of drag and start relatively slow but did amp up as the story progressed. 3.5 decent read not terrible but not great nothing mindblowing no crazy revelations. Very middle of the road for me.

It was atmospheric but like the story was underwhelming and the main character was dumb as a pile of rocks which made for a frustrating read.
