Heartbreakingly reminded me of my relationship with my sister. I desperately want my older sister to read this.
I got so attached to this book. Labeled YA but really didn't feel like it.

Fun and Fast read. I felt like I was watching a TV show. I found myself wanting to settle in and get back to the book because I want to know what happens next. Both being East Asian, I felt connected to the main character for her dysfunctional relationship with her family and with herself. I even feel connected to her faults. Her journey in the book reminds me of the early years of my undergrad self as well. I especially feel connected to her gravitation towards getting better and really seeing her bring that from her subconscious into her consciousness. I was rooting for Jayne the whole time.
I love how well-rounded the main character is and the way she pushes herself to show up with her sister - especially when things are complicated.
I'm inspired to read more fiction books like this this year.
