I immediately had to come and review this book because HOW COULD KATELYN DO THIS TO US?!?! Some books end on a cliffy and some books end on a CLIFFY! I am positing you can figure out which this is.

As always, I went into this blind and I am always glad I do. A secret society in Salem, Massachusetts directly involved with the Salem witch trials, a forced arranged marriage, and a why-choose all wrapped into one. Add in every book boyfriend archetype you could want and this makes one hell of a story!

I couldn’t put it down to save my soul and ended up finishing in less than a day. I was not prepared to be so emotionally invested and would’ve thrown my kindle across the room at the ending had it not been attached to a stand! All I can say is I am glad the next one comes out so soon because there is no way I could wait any length of time to figure out that plot twist!

Side question: what is Skyla putting into her coffee in the morning to have such mojo? Asking for a friend.

This rating may be upgraded later because this definitely felt like part 1 of a really long book. And I’m not sure it’s independently good but I did enjoy the read.

🎧 this full cast duet audiobook is a MUST! Amy Hall gives you every emotion the MFC feels. The full cast includes Devon Ryder, Edward Black, Sean Masters and Sebastian York. You can’t go wrong with them all.

The plot and story itself was captivating from the start. I could not find places to stop the audio when I needed to. This is a dark romance and somewhat unhinged so check your triggers. It’s a secret society, misogynistic, touch her and die, reverse harem, why choose. The ending had me questioning what I just read and grappling for the next book in the series immediately.

I'll read literally anything that Katelyn Taylor writes, so I wasn't surprised that I loved this book.

But how much I loved it?! Holy. Shit. I loved all the mc's... Skyla, Liam, Ronan, Vincent... even Asher.
