I give it a 'IT'S TOO MANY SLICES' out of ten.
Now, I'm not one to look a gift harem in the mouth, but there might actually be too many MMCs. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a reverse harem expert, but after the first couple of boys began licking her cookie around every corner, I was like surely they couldn't add another. By the end, I felt like I was drowning in peen and 'babygirls'.
I don't think endless peen would be such a bad thing except that I never felt like I earned it, or rather, that Skyla had earned it. I accept a certain amount of suspended belief in these books that the FMC is special just because the author says she's special, but I yearn for the books that ✨show✨ me that the FMC is special/complex. Then, when the peens arrive, I'm like yeah this makes sense.
Similarly, the plot never really developed for me. I love a dark academia/gothic premise for a book, but the aesthetics can only take it so far before I need the world-building to make the characters and plot feel like more to me. There was enough there that I did finish the book, and I wasn't mad that I did. However, I'm not convinced that I need to hit the second book.
I will proceed to describe Skyla's harem in one sentence each.
Ronan - Someone should check that man's hard drive just in case.
Liam - What if the 'babygirl' was really just the friends we made along the way?
Vincent - Someone check that man's basement just in case.
Asher - Hey bud? You good? *furiously covers drink just in case*

THAT ENDING!! What just happened?! Really enjoyed the storyline and banter between characters in this story! Each MMC brought something different to the FMC's life and they all complemented each other well. I couldn't set the book down…I couldn't help but continue reading as often as I could!

I absolutely devoured this book! I love a good why choose, but Katelyn Taylor took it up a notch with this read. The obsession the MC’s have for Skyla (FMC) is just one aspect of this storyline that I could not get enough of! With a few twists and turns, some oh so tasty spice and characters you can’t help but love I was completely hooked from page 1! And oooh man that ending!! Can’t wait to jump into book 2!

Fiction “romance”. Trashy but not like 50 Shades. More explicit. Stupid plot.
