If you’re looking for a new why choose audiobook series then look no further. I have been converted to a full cast narration in an audiobook and I’m not sure how I’m going to go back. The way that the narrators fully encapsulate the characters and their emotions is nothing short of fabulous. This book sets the tone for the series to come, with world building and lore that is key to the workings of this group of individuals and the depravity of the world they are just trying to survive.
This book provides the perfect blend of mystery, dark academia, secret societies and why choose, with a cliffhanger that will leave you not knowing if you’re coming or going. I found the story incredibly compelling and gripping, from meeting Skyla at the start of the story, to meeting all of the men that will occupy her every waking moment, I could not tear myself away.
All of the characters bring their own dynamic to the story, and having the multiple POV in place feels so important for why choose romance like this one. Having the different perspectives for certain situations is both eye opening and frustrating (in a good way if that makes sense) at times.
The mystery stalker aspect was by far my favourite part of this book, I love me a good mystery and had so much fun guessing as to who it could be. This aspect, despite the sinister secret society and the villainous MMC, feels like it ups the stakes in a whole different kind of way.

I listened to the audiobook and it’s fantastic! I love full cast narration.
*** Update after finishing the trilogy: I absolutely LOVED the first 2.5 audiobooks. However, halfway into the final book the story completely changed into something else entirely. I hated this new story. I was confused by the change of the story, which I hated, and it ruined the entire trilogy. The story went from being about a stalker to witches.
I heard great things about this trilogy but I also heard great things about Graves and I personally didn’t like Graves but this trilogy is free on Hoopla so I figured why not.

This books is MF. I can’t remember but I don’t believe there was MFM but don’t quote me. No MM in this one.
