Skyla is forced to come back to her father after living with her aunt for the last several years. Upon arrival, she finds out she’s engaged to Asher Putnam who is an absolute jerk. His best friend Liam is a huge flirt but more tolerable but it’s Ronan, the school’s swim coach that catches her eye the most. Unfortunately there’s a lot more going on in this creepy little town than she first realized. It might take all of them to keep her safe.

⭐ Rating: 2.5-3/5
This is one of those books that keeps you hooked despite its flaws. The plot itself is a mixed bag, not particularly compelling and filled with moments that had me rolling my eyes (so many times). It feels a bit like watching a melodramatic TMC TV channel program: predictable, over-the-top, and heavy on the drama. Yet, despite these issues, it managed to hold my attention enough that I didn’t DNF it.

Where the book shines is in the spice—definitely steamy and entertaining, even if the dialogue and interactions leading up to those moments sometimes had me cringing. And while Book 2 isn’t much of an improvement so far, I’m still inexplicably curious to see how the characters’ stories end. So I'll probably end reading all the books and complain about it.

The whole series was great! Very similar to Emily Ruth’s puckking series. The MM was top tier. Favorite rev. Herem ever! Quick read satisfying. Had plot, and spice. Would recommend!
